Why This Site Exists
Public access in Texas depends on choosing the correct custodian. Taylor County Sheriff keeps its own reports and local histories, while the Adult Detention Facility and Odyssey carry booking information. The District Clerk maintains felony files, and the County Clerk maintains Class A and B misdemeanor files. Texas DPS holds the statewide repository. TDCJ and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry answer still different questions. The site brings those official contacts, request methods, search fields, and posted costs into one Taylor County reference.

Limits of This Resource
This is a privately operated reference site with no connection to a Texas court, law-enforcement agency, or state office. Those limits mean the site cannot:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- File expunction petitions, records requests, or other papers for a visitor
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
An official copy must come from the sheriff, court clerk, Texas DPS, or other agency that maintains the original record.
Outside Search Services
Third-party providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. Those businesses control their services, results, prices, and terms. A paid signup reached through a search box may produce a referral fee that supports site operation. Taylor County Criminal History does not control a provider's charges or the content returned by its service.
